Filminformatie

On the Mediterranean island of Lampedusa, Samuele spends his days at school, playing with friends and exploring the landscape around his home. Gianfranco Rosi’s documentary follows this island routine alongside the rescue and reception of people arriving by sea. The work of doctor Pietro Bartolo connects the community with the human cost of these crossings, as the film moves between homes, boats and the places where exhausted survivors are brought ashore.
