Filminformatie

Wim Wenders accompanies Ry Cooder to Havana, where Cuban singers and instrumentalists gather to record with Ibrahim Ferrer. Between sessions, musicians including Compay Segundo, Omara Portuondo and Rubén González recall their lives and the traditions behind their music. Studio performances and conversations in the city give way to concerts in Amsterdam and at New York’s Carnegie Hall, allowing the film’s portraits of individual artists to build into an account of an ensemble finding a new international audience.
